Friday Photo: Dandelions

On the stretch from Telluride to Dolores, Colorado. A beautiful field filled with yellow, perfect for a few photo opps.
A Taste of Santa Fe

Two days, three tacos, two enchiladas, five mentions of frito pies, four milagros, numerous iced coffees: Santa Fe.
Red adobe buildings, striking against the blue sky. Bright flowers paired with dusty streets. Tacos covered with pumpkin seed pesto. An eclectic mix of new and old. Colors everywhere: red ristras hanging on balconies, stacks of turquoise and yellow striped blankets, a bright blue canopy to provide shade in the heat of the day. An ongoing visual flurry, all under the Southwest sun.
Friday Photo: Canyon Love
A decade ago, I spent an entire month in the backcountry. I refused to go to sleep before seeing a shooting star.
Last weekend I was reminded of that time. There were no shooting stars, but the moon was bright, the night was clear and the red rock perfect for sleeping on.
Friday Photo: Night Lights
Made it out of the city and into the desert in an Airstream this week. Nothing’s better than waking up to a chilly morning with clean blue sky, starting the stove and brewing a french press full of coffee.
The “Month of Colorado” — best expressed in a night shot.
Oregon is a Beautiful Place
The quiet of a country road. The smell of a property frequented by sheep and cows. Here in the nearly untouched landscape of rolling hills and tree canopies the sun comes out for a brief moment. We all turn towards it, trying to soak up as much as we can, knowing fully well it will disappear in minutes. Rain jackets are thrown to the ground to celebrate the brief moment of spring.
The white, fluffy clouds roll by, bringing darker, more mysterious ones in their wake. We wait for the storm and cross our fingers that it won’t be a deluge. It’s spring after all.
