Tracking Down Good Coffee in Montmartre
People often ask me where they should go when they come to Paris. It takes time to make personal itineraries for people (I really should start charging…), but fortunately I write enough roundups that I can just start sending links instead. Case in point: my favorite coffee spots around Montmartre.
Montmartre, as you may know, is known for being a bit crazy, with tourists flocking at the base of Sacre Coeur and bad souvenir shops lining the streets. But the wonderful thing about Montmartre is that this flurry of tourist activity is only reserved to a small area.
Go just a few streets off the beaten path and you’re right in the heart of a beautiful neighborhood that even locals come to explore. It’s one of my favorite places in town for just that reason. Plenty of streets to wander and get lost in.
Fortunately, there’s also coffee. I did a roundup of all my favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood last week for Sprudge, and if you ever find yourself in Paris, I recommend keeping it as a reference. There are a few well-known cafes on the list – KB Cafe comes to mind – as well as a few lesser known ones, like le Rocket Ship, which is actually a cute design boutique owned by a man that loves good espresso.
Even if you’re not coming to Paris anytime soon, the list will at least provide for a little bit of wanderlust. And you can never have too much wanderlust, now can you?
Yep… wont be in Paris anytime soon, but having the specifics help to make the dreams feel all the more real. Are they cute little cups in the bottom corner of the image above? What a fabulous little treasure shop. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
