Friday Photo: Travel Inspiration

with one comment

Sometimes I open the Baja folder, knowing fully well that I should resist the urge. Perusing through travel photos can do two things:

Inspire you.

Frustrate you.

Often it’s the latter, making you wish for an immediate teleport to a far away place that has nothing to do with computer screens and desks.

But you do it anyway, and are left with visions of warm weather, sand and good people. The frustration subsides, and you’re left with the kind of travel urge that leads to planning the next adventure. The vicious wanderlust cycle.

Where to next?

That Kind of Weekend

The beauty of Oregon is salt air one day and snowflakes on a cross country ski trail the next.

Friday Photo: Morning Run

with one comment

Early bird gets the worm… or at least the sunrise. Feeling inspired and fueled by some beautiful runs in San Francisco this week, the smell of sea salt and eucalyptus in the air.

Ideas Come When…

leave a comment »

My ideas usually come not at my desk writing but in the midst of living. -Anais Nin

Ideas come when you:

say yes more often.
get outside.
drink coffee.
are open to inspiration.
dream.
celebrate the ordinary.
love.
surround yourself with creatives.
are intentional.
live passionately.

Nature is Balance and Creativity

with 2 comments

Nature fuels creativity, as is clear spending time at the Banff Centre forBanff Mountain Film and Book Festival. Our brains need time to disconnect, to readjust to a more natural rhythm, one that begins with a sunrise over the peaks and an afternoon of alpenglow. One where the sound of a raging river is ever present. One where clean air is a given. One where you take in the natural world, not because you choose to go out on an afternoon hike, or take a weekend drive to the country.
